Department Goals
The Housing Manager is responsible for the daily activities related to Housing.
Our Housing Manager’s main function is to oversee all aspects of Housing on the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Reserve; and to report all relevant information of Housing to the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations Council.
The Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’w Nations utilize Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) programs to fund renovations and new construction. We also do Ministerial Guarantees for nation members wishing to build and/or own their own homes. Houses on the Tsulquate Reserve are mainly nation-owned, though there are a few home owners.
